I just have a quick question. What are the codes needed to call Canada from the UK?? So if a person is to dial the (416)555-5555, what do they need to enter before this??

Also, someone posted a website once about calling for 1p...does anyone have that site? Is it 1p a minute or per call?? Thanks!

Usually you dial "001" and then the area code, etc.

So - "001-416-123-4567"

It used to be 1p per minute but they've doubled their price to 2p per minute.

Sometimes the connection isn't the greatest... but whatever.

You can find loads of info about calling Canada for cheap on moneysavingexpert.co.uk.

I find the cheapest is if you phone 08447 20 20 20, and then dial the number you want. It's 1p per minute apparently, but this is my first month using that number so i'll have to wait till the bill comes to see if it's really that cheap.

07744 700 800

If you have a mobile here in the UK and have cross network calls included in your bundle you can call 07744 700 800. You then put in the full Canadian number such as 001 604 123 4567...and then #. It doesn't cost you a thing except if you go over your cross network minutes and then you are charged the rate of cross network mobile charges.

I have been using it for a couple months now and I never have any extra charges on my mobile!! Pass the word

I've been in the UK now for 8 years and I have been using One.Tel.

You set up your account with them and you can ring 1877 before you dial your number. It's 5 pence a minute which is nothing. £3.00 to talk for an hour!

They also provide an access number for you to call from your mobile or from a pay phone etc.
