Nice try misterbig...I like your tendency to fight and never give up...

Stay away from this place? What is a white aussie? Are Lebanese white? The beauty of forums is that it allows ignorant people who've never lived in Australia to criticize Australian people based on what they've read in the news. Stop being so racist dannykool.

You need to read the news to see what happened in these racially motivated attacks...and some of this needs to be really taken up by the Indian govt, I would say.

These kind of attacks are unforgivable...the best approach would be for the attacked Indians to strike back at these attackers. Give it to them !

There is likely to be an exodus of students from 'this place'.

indeed the beauty of forums is that it can allow placing of links...

Man, the more i read...the scarier it gets.

But yes, this is not the only country it happens in...it could happen anywhere...but so many incidents (81 !) in 3 months...I have no idea what is the motive behind physical attacks like this ?

Misterbig might know.

What's your motive since you're not Australian and have not lived in Sydney recently? According to your profile, you live in Europe, so you're not a current Canadian either. How about instead of just reading the news you actually live in the places you're discussing. Places change and there's no substitute for real life experience my boy.

I and other Canuck/Aussie posters who live in Sydney have posted our response, but you've chosen to only believe what the internet digs up. Hey, it's cheaper than actually travelling and seeing for yourself right?

Motive is to make people like the poster aware what is going on. Current Canadian or not, I have my reasons.

Real life experience is important you right there. But these kind of attacks...it is cheaper to read. I don't want Asian Indians as the original poster is to experience these kind of attacks.

This is not about Sydney. It's about the attacks. Not a one-off.

Overall the place might be ok. But it is now up to the Indian government to take charge. And the Indian students need to give back some of this.

I think you will agree that these attackers need to be hit back at some point as self-defense.

Oh by the way, the forum is Canuck abroad so one does not have to be a 'current Canadian'. One can reside anywhere in the world.

Google said I might have cancer but it turned out to be a common cold. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. If you don't like Australia then don't come here, easy as that.

I worked in the city and out of 20 staff members I was the only one with Australian born parents, Australia is very multicultural especially in Sydney and Melbourne. In 2009 I sincerly hope you will not have to deal with racism.

I sincerely hope too that this does not continue...

Please give me some advice/suggestions.

I still can't believe how easy it is to buy a nice home in Toronto vs Vancouver. I'd suggest any newcomers consider Toronto first before Vancouver, especially if you're of African/middle-eastern descent.

Australia is a special case too, no ? At least these guys are giving it back...

Australian youths need to be raised in a different way perhaps...but for now they need to be given back a dose of their own crap..
