RE Acceptable documents for Proof of funds - NEED HELP ASAP!

Post Wed Sep 09, 2009 2:57 pm

Hey guys, I have a question about the bank statements required for the acestry visa.

My parents are giving me 1500 dollars towards my move, and I was told that any large deposit would cause a flag? Also, my account hasn't been that full for the past two months as I just returned home from holidays (the UK ate my savings account!), but it DOES show the despoit of my paychecks, as well! I can provide all kinds of pay-stub copies from work, and I heard that you can use a statement from your bank on the date you apply with your balance as opposed to the three months of statements. Anyone know if this is true?

HELP!

While I cannot say for certain, I did something a bit worse when I applied for my WHM in 2008.
I was due to receive some money the month before I came over which would be more than enough to fund my trip. However, I didn't have enough money in my account at the time I had to apply. I borrowed a couple grand from friends and then put it in my bank. I got the statements printed off and then withdrew the money.
I was still approved.

I actually think it's pretty difficult to get denied unless you're obviously dodgy.

The thing is, my bank statements don't show any savings over the past 3 months - just the deposits of my checks, and then my withdrawls while i lived off of them! What were the statements like that you sent in? Did they show your deposit of a couple grand?

Thanks SO much for your reply!

I'm curious too. Is there an approximate amount that you really SHOULD have in your account before applying? I mean, I'm working somewhere all summer and by the time I apply I should have at least $4000 CDN in my account.

Do you just print off statements from say, a bank machine or do they require a letter from your bank? It's not easy to find out exact information online or with worldbridge. Ugh, any help would be great.

I think I only had $3000 in my bank when I applied so you should be fine.

I was told that a printout from an ATM would not be sufficient. I used paperless banking as well so what I did was speak to my branch (Scotiabank) and they agreed that if I were to go and print off my bank statements from my online account and bring them in, they would stamp them so as to show that they were authentic.

In my application, I made sure to explain this and it all went fine.

Just have a general question in regards to funds needed to study over in the UK. I have supplied information of government issued funds (student loans) and the RRSP statements and income statements of my parents as a backup.

My question is whether or not; I can use my parents RRSP statements when applying for my student visa? Does anyone one know? I have read that when the UK boarder agency issues your visa they do not accept pension funds. Obviously, RRSP's are different from that of pension funds (Since you can withdraw any rrsp funds from your rrsp when needed). If anyone has any information please let me know.

Cheers

I am planning on joining my husband who lives in the UK and I am applying for a settlement Visa, I have a fulltime job in canada and will be working up to the time I leave for UK if granted visa, my question is do I have to have savings in my acct when doing the application? I should have saving by the time I am ready to leave. and I have proof of desposits into my bank from my employer! Dont they look more at my husbands income and job as he will be sponsering me?? thanks any feedback greatly appreciated

Hi,
I am planning to apply for UK Tier 1 Visa on 8th November 2010. I have couple of doubts that I need to clarify with you guys. I request your help in guiding me.

Qualification

The Highest Degree that I have is MCA [Master of Computer Application] from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam district, Kerala State, India. I was not able to find MCA in points based calculator [PBC]. If I choose Masters Degree as the qualification in Points based calculator, I am getting 35 points, but while proceeding further towards the English language skills in the PBC, I am not getting 10 points for the qualification that I have added [Masters Degree from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam district, Kerala State, India]. When I added my Bachelors degree [Bsc Degree from University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala state, India], I am getting 10 points for the English Language skills and 30 points for the qualification.

Can I add two qualifications [MCA and BSc] and can claim points for qualification against MCA and points for English language skills against Bachelors Degree?
For MCA and BSC degrees I have received the medium of education certificate as English from the respective Universities.

Previous 12 months earnings

1) In the last 12 months [Nov2009 to Oct 2010] I have worked in 3 companies. I don't have a pay slip for the month of April 2010 as I changed the company but I have received the full and final settlement amount in my bank account from the company and I have the document for that. The amount is credited by the company to my bank account.
I have a soft copy of the Full and final settlement doc. Do I need to attest it by the employer?
I have the amount credited to my account by the employer and the full and final settlement doc. Is this documents enough to prove that as an earning?

2) For the month of July 2010, I have initiated my exit request with the second employer and for that month I got the pay slip, but I didn't get the salary credited to my account as it was kept on hold since I was surviving the notice period. I will get that money credited with the full and final settlement in the month of Oct 2010 The Full and final settlement amount will not be credited to my account by the company, instead they will give it to me as a DD. In the Pay slip the salary is marked as on hold. Can I include this in my 12 months earnings? What all document are required to prove this as my earning? As I didn’t get the salary credited to my Bank account for the month of July and I am getting the same as a DD on the Month of October, can I claim this as my earning? If Yes, How? Please help.

3) 8th September 2010 was my last working day in the second company. I have joined the third company on 10th September 2010. For the month of September I have received salary from both the employers credited to my account. 1-8th Sep salary from the second employer and 10 to 30th September Salary from the third employer. I have also received the Pay slips from both the employer for the same month. Can I show both of this pay slips to prove the earning for the month of September 2010?
