re-entry after overstayed in canada

Postby shibaken » Thu Nov 27, 2008 8:04 am

Hi everyone.

I'm a japanese citizen who's currently staying in japan and hoping to come to canada after i once overstayed there.

Background:First I stayed in canada from Apr 2006 to Apr 2007 on Wroking Holiday Visa, then extended my stay for a year(6months×2times) on Visitor Visa utill Apr 2008, and since then until I left Canada in November 2008 I overstayed in canada for 7months.

I'm a uiversity student in japan and I'm hoping to go to Canada again after I graduate from it. (next year or 2years later)
I have a fiance who is canadian and ready to prepare for files of marriage.
Also I'll be able to get a job offer if i need.

Could anybody tell me if there's possibility I can be permitted to enter canada again in this situation? How long should i wait until I try to re-enter canada?

Thank you very much!
