Recently moved to the states, have a few tax questions.

Post Sun Feb 21, 2010 4:31 pm

Hi everyone,

I graduated college in April of 2009, and moved to the States in August of 2009 under a TN Visa to start work. I've begun filing my US taxes, but I'm not sure what to write for certain fields. Do I file as a student, even though I was a student in Canada and not a student in the US? Likewise, I made a nomical amount of money while in Canada (< $1000), would I include that as foreign income on my US tax returns?

If anyone's been in a similar position, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!
