Record check at US border?

If we travel or live abroad, we usually come back to visit right? Here's a the place to meet other "re-pats" and Canadians who have returned.

Record check at US border?

Post Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:25 am

Hello,

i recently received my pardon and CPIC is now clear. I went to the states by car and everything went well.
They scanned my passport, pushed a couple of buttons.etc. I was never denied entry as i never went there since my conviction. So, the US should not know about my record - which has now been pardoned. My questions is - what info is disclosed when a passport is scanned? Do they ALWAYS do a CPIC search on EVERYONE?

Thanks

It's not information they advertise, but I think they do and NCIC as well.
Steve.

Thanks Steve, so I would have been denied entry in that case? Is that a reasonable assumption?
