Refusal of ILR and wanting to return to UK

Refusal of ILR and wanting to return to UK

I've tried to apply for a visa under Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) but it has been refused with no appeal under insufficient compassionate circumstances.
I currently have returned to Canada having left my job, partner and whole life behind in the UK. I'm looking to re-apply for a new visa but unsure if there is meant to be a waiting period before I re-apply or if my refusal is going to make it worse for me to try again.
I've looked everywhere on websites to try and find some advice, or there is a company called Migration Expert who want to charge me $150/hour for a consultation. Having lost my money in the first application and returning to Canada, I'm trying to hold onto the little bit of money I do have.
Can anyone help?

I think you'd be better off posting this in the Canadians in the UK forum, under visas and immigration.
