Hey everyone,

I'm totally new to this forum as this is my first post, but i see that everyone gets awesome and professional help. Here's my story Very Happy :

I'm a 23 year old canadian and i have a job offer to work in the States as a video game commentator for a pretty big gaming website. All the work is done via internet streaming, but they're studio is based in the States. I have no University degree (I've only completed 1 year and a half in Film Studies), but i have nearly 6 years of experience. The company will not hire me as an employee but as a contractor, but it is going to be a for a long-term contract.

What type of visa would i need and how do the taxes work on the salary? do i pay canadian taxes or american taxes?

Thanks in advance

Other than a labor certification/green card, maybe an O-1. Why not work from Canada?

Because they do video streaming and have like a sports desk just like TSN so i would need to be on location to broadcast.

They can still sponsor me a green card even i'm not going to be their employee but a contractor?

You would have to be a full-time permanent employee.
