"Hi Mitch,

How do you find the living standards and the quality of life in the uae compared to canada? Is there a good health care system in place with good health facilities? Is it a safe society? Please let me know

thanks

Generally speaking, the standard of living here is very high (everyone who is working on big contracts is in a nice apartment/villa, everyone has a car, taxis are cheap, most products from UK or US are available). I have not lived in Canada for 13 years, but it is very easy to live here. It's hard to compare, but lots of people come here because of the standard of living.

Health care....can't compare to Canada, it's been too long, and I've never really been sick enough to worry about health care. Good doctors/dentists here; friends I have had went through various surgeries here and all came out fine. Private health care is expensive if you are not on a plan with your employer, so have that negotiated into a contract. Some people go home for big operations or illensses like cancer, heart operations etc, but that's because they don't like 'foreign' doctors.

Society here is incredibly safe. Personal security not an issue. Generally, there's a very mixed population of people, and it makes for a nice diversity around you. There's not much house crime, and very very little person to person crime at all (mugging etc). The worst problem is traffic and maniac drivers.
