I forgot to add that they did do something new this time around. I was fingerprinted (left and right index finger) and photographed, which I have never had to do for a TN before. Has anyone else had to do this? Is this a new thing?[/quote]

As of January 18, 2009, all TN non-immigrants are required to provide biometrics when entering or re-entering the U.S.

Not necessarily, if you've got all the valid paperwork and a valid explanation there's no reason for them not to issue TN-1. Your past denial will be in their records so they probably will be more thorough though.

As well as in nearly every other category, useful to know. Just be sure they do it correctly.

So we're officially "in the system" now, biometrics and all. Fun!

I never count on getting a nice officer. In fact, the officer I dealt with at Pearson yesterday was rude and condescending, and treated me as though I were 5 years old. That seems to be the norm.

When the biometrics will get really fun is when they start using them on Canadian passports, with RFID chips. I think the plan is to start introducing them on June 1st.
