For the record, I love this Forum!
i like many people am currently coming to the end of my
TN status. I'll be renewing it at the Windsor/Detroit border (I've heard horror stories of that POE) using the engineering technician/technologist classification. It went extremely smooth last time, so here's hoping it works out the same way again.
Try the tunnel, not the Bridge, and request to see Officer Carter.
There's a few questions I was hoping to get answered.
1. Is there anything me/my employer need to change on the TN letter? (besides the dates)
I was thinking instead of it saying "A one-year term" it should say "An additional one-year term"
Additional one year term would be fine. Make sure any change in job duties or salary are reflected.
2. This has been answered before somewhere, but I was hoping for a bit of clarification. Soon to be married to an American, is there any way I can apply for something else while on my TN Status? I really don't want to fall into that pit where I'm not allowed to work for a certain period of time.
Where are you marrying? In the U.S. or Canada?
3. my Fiance will have her RN shortly, would it be easier for her to get permanent residence in Canada rather that me staying here in the states?
