Did anyone have trouble renting a house in the US when you had no american credit history, or did you find that people were so desperate to rent, that a deposit and proof of income was enough?

No issue in San Francisco, but the first place I found that I wanted was the only one I actually applied for, so might have gotten lucky. I printed off a copy of my credit report from Equifax along with my job offer letter and gave that to them.
