Renting car and driving in UK

Post Wed May 28, 2008 4:43 pm

I have an Ontario driver's license and have read that I can use this in the UK for 12 months. When I arrive in the UK I'll need to rent a car. I read on a car rental site that I'll need an International Driver's License. Is this the same as an ON license? Or is it something different that I need to get?

Thanks

You will be fine with a Canadian license. An International Driver's License is mainly required when, for instance, your license is in a different language so the rental place wouldn't know what it says. But everyone I know has rented on their Ontario licenses with no problems.
