Researching a move to Spain...Help?

Post Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:14 pm

My boyfriend and I are looking into a move to Spain in the next 1.5 years. He is planning on doing a Masters in Business in Barcelona and I am just wanting to go along for the ride. Problem is I have no idea where to start the research it would take to get the necessary visas, look into housing options, connect with other foreigners living in the city, etc. I am starting from scratch here and would appreciate any help I could get as we start planning this exciting adventure!

If any of you end up deciding to buy a place in Spain and want to be on a TV show let me know! I work for House Hunters International.

Some really helpful Spanish visa information can be found at gospanishabroad.com/spain-visa.html and gospanishabroad.wordpress.com . The job situation right now in Spain is not great so plan on having a good cash cushion in the bank in case you can't find work. To work abroad in Spain a good knowledge of Spanish is an absolute must and since you're going to Barcelona it would help you out a great deal to learn some Catalan as well. Good luck to you in your adventure abroad in Spain! :)
