residency/work visa for magazine journalist

Post Thu Dec 04, 2008 1:56 pm

Hello - am new to this forum and hope you can help.

I'm a Canadian journalist/author who once lived in the UK on a working holiday visa. My mother has UK residency via a grandparent
entry. she last lived in the UK in 1998 and was told she was eligible for a passport but never got one.

I've been shortlisted for an interview with a leading UK magazi
ne. they need me to tell them what the procedure would be should they want to hire me as a staff writer/editor.

Does anyone know how this would work?

I leave in 48 hours for the first of several interviews and need to give my potential employers a sense of what might be possible.

Thanks

Shame I saw this a bit late Writer. Basically, as an editor, they would want you to come up with a flatplan, features list and possibly a style sheet. When I go for interviews, I generally design all three and take them along with me.

No doubt, you have got copies of your previous work with you. They will ask you what changes you would make to their publication, so please read their title thoroughly.

Hopefully, the first interview would just be a "get-to-know-you" session. Let us speak when it is time for the second one.
