Hi everyone! I'm sorry I've just found this forum as I'm about to go back home!!
I'm an ex-pat Canuck coming home for good in September (from the UK). We've sorted out all of the residency visas etc for my British hubby, and we've even had his permanent resident visa stamped so as far as Immigration Canada are concerned, he's a resident of Canada even though we are still technically living in the UK for the next couple of months.
My question is, what do I have to do? When I left, I never said anything to the Ontario health card people (didn't realize i needed to!), but I don't know if they would still have me on their records, or if I need to alert them I'm back. I still have my healthcard (old style red & white one, not the one that looks like a driver's licence), and as far as I know it's still valid. I've been filing taxes in Canada as well, though my dad said they didn't request anything from me this year, so I suppose I should let them know I'm back when i get there. My driver's licence is still valid and current... is there anything else I need to do?
And a related question, can anyone recommend a good shipping company UK (London) to Canada (Toronto)? We're flying over with Zoom, and are thinking of sending stuff by cargo with them. Any thoughts?
