Hey
As you will notice from previous posts, I am working on applying for my UK Ancestry Visa. Well, my dad (it's his mum I'm going through) wants to get to England on his Right of Abode so that he can visit me whenever he wants. Has anyone does this, or know more information about it than is on the UK Visas website?

He doesn't currently have his Canadian Passport (he's military, so it kinda expired a long, long time ago, and he's never had to renew it), so would it be easier to go about getting his Right of Abode with or without his Canadian passport? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much Smile

wish I could help with this but all the information I have about right of abode is available on the Uk visas site. Smile

I think is depends on if 'right of abode' is considered as a visa or residency. If it's a visa he will definately need a passport of some description, however if it is a form of citizenship it may not be necessary. It's something that would bear looking into.

He can come and go with a canadian passport for any period up to 6 months as long as he's only going as a tourist. Whether to apply or not really depends on what he wants. Smile
