It is always that an applicant provide the required documents & proof as stated in the ROA application form - linked in my last post above
Confirming that you are speaking about a UK right of abode (ROA) in your Indian passport, then the VAF7 referred to is very specific & requires an applicant to have the supporting documents together.
If you are in the UK & resident with a UK address & phone number, then you could trying applying on line [dont know if it'll work] - this is available for anyone in the UK. Again open the link in my last post
Suggest to get an official answer - that you go to the British passport offices in London & ask them, maybe they can answer you or redirect you
BTW, where was the initial ROA in your passport issued & at that time what form did you fill out & what documentation did you have to provide at that time.
It should be a repeat of the first application - same process
