RN moving to Dubai....suggestions?

Postby nurse_jennie on Tue Oct 14, 2008 3:08 pm

Hello All!
I am a registered nurse recently hired by The American Hospital Dubai. Wondering if there were any Canadian Nurses on here who could give me any advice? I move the beginning of January for a 2 year contract, coming by myself! I am very excited, and a little nervous! Any suggestions and help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Jennie Rogers

The American Hospital is a great local hospital, I wish you luck! (Sorry I am not a nurse and I don't know any here!)

I am a Registered Nurse from Canada who moved to Qatar to teach nursing in August. I would be interested in teaching at a nursing college in the UAE when my current contract is finished here in June. If anyone has the names of nursing schools, colleges and universities in the UAE that have nursing programs, I would live to hear from you! Also I would love to hear from other Canadian nurses working in the Middle East.
Take care,
Lynne

Twice I have tried to post you a response and have been cut off at the gate. there is a great forum here if you google expatwoman you will find all you answers to all your questions on their Dubai forum. good luck. I have been here 2 years and love it, but it does take some time to adjust to the differences here, so try to be patient. I will help if I can.

hi all,
I am newbie here. i am agreed with "hartkel". I am also in Dubai from last 3 years. Because of international city it is much expensive especially residence and traveling. I suggest you to manage your all expenses and budgets before arrival.

I wish you good luck.
