Safety In Merida Yucatan?

Safety In Merida Yucatan?

Postby ChicaDelMar » Thu May 15, 2008 4:30 pm

I am interested in completing an intense language school for a month/possibly two months in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico in February/March 2009 (I was considering the Spanish Institute Merida). How safe is the city? How safe is it compared to cities in other regions of Mexico? I am a younger female and would be travelling alone. Are there any specific safety tips you would recommend if I decide to pursue this programme?

Also has anyone had any experience/contact/knowledge of the Spanish Institute Merida? Is it a reputable school? Are there any other schools you would recommend?

Thanks for any assitance.

and we have a lot of questions, and,

there doesn't seem to be anybody home to answer them.
