Salary in Doha

Hi,

I am comtemplating moving to Doha and was wondering if anyone can provide me with some idea of the salaries there for Canadians? I know that it may be different depending on job and experience but if I have a general idea about what Canadians are getting paid in different fields it would be great info.

Hi Sam,
I arrived in Doha Qatar from Canada in August this year with my daughter and husband. Doha is not like Dubai or any other places in the GULF.The cost of living is the highest in the Gulf. Salaries get wiped out by the exOrbitant house rents and the apartments/villas are badly built. A 2BR apt will cost a minimum of QR7000 per month if you can find one. Roads and road rage is bad and costant traffic jams. Schools are VERY expensive.Better to go to another Gulf country. Qatar sucks !

Actually I don't mind it here. Rents are expensive. The people are nice (except on the roads). Food and Booze costs are about the same as Canada. Make sure any promises about the job from your employer are in writing.
