Scary Magdeburg

Hallo
I am looking for opinions about Magdeburg.
I presently live in nice Nürnberg, but my husband wants to finish his study in Magdeburg. I have heard that this particular town is filled with people that still believe in the fascist ideology, and that they don't like the people from abroad.which I am! Coming from the country side of wonderful Canada.I am scared for myself and my freedom.so what do you think?

I also heard the same thing. I've never been there tho. my girlfriend is German and the other day she needed to take the train to visit me. one conncetion was stopping for some time in Magdeburg. and she chose another connection so she would not have to spend 30-45 minutes there at like 5am.

She's usually not afraid of people. I cannot tell you more than that.
