Sending our kids to College

Post Sat Nov 12, 2011 7:10 am

I am here on a TN Visa, my husband on L1 Visa. We have lived in Texas for 3 years.
We have a daughter who is now a Junior in High School and is beginning to weigh her options for colleges.

Questions:
>Because we are here on Visa's, does that mean she will be considered an "international" student for tuition and admission purposes?
>If she chose to go to University in Canada - would we have to pay "non-resident" tuition there?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to conatct the state school. Each state is different (and private vs state rules are different too), but attendance in high school in that state sometimes makes a differnce.

If she goes to canada, the same criteria will apply (did she go to school in that province). If not she might have to pay out-of-province rate, probably for one year.

Again. The schools will be able to tell you this explicitly.
