Settlement Visa Help!

I am a Canadian who married a British Citizen in May 2008 on a Marriage Visa in the UK. I returned to Canada for a short while and applied for my settlement visa. My documents were received in Ottawa yesterday. I now realise that it can take 50 working days to process a settlement visa! My husband is in the military and we have been apart for 3 months. I included a letter with my application explaining my situation, and requested that my application be expidited on compassionate grounds, but don't know if that will help or not. My marriage visa was accepted in 36 hours but I'm afraid my settlemnt visa will take longer. Does anyone have any advice or positive stories that might be helpful to me? I'm in panic mode!
