Shipping Items to Girlfriend Studying in Wales

I need some advice. My girlfriend is studying in Wales and has asked to have some items shipped to her from home.

I've checked with several couriers and Canada Post and the prices for shipping stuff to Wales (or the UK in general) is all over the map. Who offers the best value in shipping goods to the UK?

For that matter what is the best way to get things to loved ones overseas?

You could google "excess baggage" or "international shipping" to find companies that do this sort of thing. If you're shipping a lot of stuff, it'll probably be much cheaper to use one of these companies rather than Canada Post.
