Shipping to the UK

What is the cheapest way to take a bunch of personal effects to the UK (from Halifax)? By the time I'm ready to move in a month, I'll probably end up with two suitcases and another box of 'stuff'. I'm not moving any furniture. I'm thinking that I'll take the two suitcases with me on the plane (darn you, Air Canada, for reducing your free baggage allowance to one suitcase!), and ship the box one way or another. I did a quick search on the Canada Post website, and for a parcel of about 30 kg, ground/sea shipping will be about $200. Is that as good it gets? I'm not really concerned about how long it takes to get there, just as long it all gets there intact.

Well I am moving to Uk from toronto but I am flying Canadian affairs because its so cheap to fly direct to UK like 400 cad ... also they use air transit which has a cargo service so 3 day before you fly u can drop off up to 45kg of stuff for 200 cad which is cheap plus i can also bring one 22kg suitcase so might be something to check about good luck!

If flying with AC I would just pay the excess bag fee, it is far cheaper than shipping with Canada post. $25 for the second bag up to 22kg, and $225 for each bag after that with no overweight/over size fees.

If you are travelling charter this could be another story, as they charge a lot more than AC.

Well I also move to UK from Toronto and I am full of confident that you will not find cheaper than this version. So I advise you to do the same.
