Short term work in the US

Short term work in the US

I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the legality of Canadians going to the US to be paid as a speaker/trainer for short term work. I have been asked to go to Anchorage, Alaska to facilitate a week long training. Do I need any type of paperwork to do this, or can I just go? What do I tell them at the border?
