Should I get a NEXUS card?

I've heard that people are still having trouble with airlines (like Steve mentioned) and TSA people not recognizing what a NEXUS card actually is. I think I will end up getting one (especially since the line at Pearson T3's preclearance was ridiculous yesterday morning, and I was getting jealous of all of the people with NEXUS zipping by me), but it probably makes sense to carry around a passport as well.
