You noticed! Smile

There's a tonne more coming over the next week or two..Keep your eyes open Wink

So far I ripped out the old forum, re-installed everything from scratch and a bunch of new features. That took about all of last week and this past weekend but everything seems to be functioning.

One new feature is that you can add descriptions to the topics that you post - That makes it easier for people to scan through the topics and see which ones interest them, and maybe generate more responses for your topic.

For example, I added a description to this topic which can be seen when you look at the forum index.

There are also a number of avatars you can add to your profile - You can do this by clicking on the "Profile" link on the top of the page.

And, lots of other features but most are related to coding and making things faster, less bugs, etc.

But yeah - big changes coming..

Thanks for noticing!

So that's why we had to re-login.
Cookies were dropped.

Cheers.

Yeah, sorry about that - It shouldn't happen again with the cookies, though it might. No promises!

I've got most of the next features ready to go up, hopefully on Monday.

A little update: You may have noticed the new header up top Wink Part one of new look.

A few other updates to the forums - You can now save your posts as a draft! So if you're in the middle of typing up a post, but aren't ready to submit it yet, you can save it and edit/post it later. Just hit the "Save as Draft" button when making a post, and you can access it again from the forum index by hitting the link on the right saying "My saved drafts".

Another feature - a spell check! Just hit the "Spell Check" button before posting. Currently the site that provides the dictionary is down though, so this might not be fully functional for a couple of days.

A few other things - I've banned people trying to register on the site using open proxy servers. This will help prevent spammers registering. If you use a proxy to read the site and all that, that's fine - it just affects registrations. I've also added elements to prevent search engines from picking up spam links that people might try to post. So that should just help keep things tidy around here, and save me from deleting junk Smile

And I'm currently testing out a Classifieds Section - This will let people post items they may have for sale (For example, say you're moving back to Canada and need to sell your house or something). Let me know what you think - There's more to come!

Anyways there's more to come -
Matt[/b]

Is it me, or did I notice an un-grouping of the subjects on the main forum page?
If so . sweeeeet move!

p.s. error on your spell check window launch [ function fsockopen() ].

Yes Smile And much more to come. Yeah the spell check is performed by a third-party site, which happened to be down for a few days (conveniently when I installed it). But it's up and running now!

I also purchased a license for it, so that it becomes ad free. I think it's pretty useful!
