Soon to be a Canadian student on F1 with some questions

Hello all,

I have been searching all over the web for answers to my questions, but to no avail. So I am hoping for help from all of you.

I will be going to Loyola University in Chicago on a "F1" starting this October for a year long post-bacculerate program with an OPT option at the end. However, over that period of time what happens when my girlfriend who is a American citizen and I decide to get married what happens then? Are there any papers to file for either one of us? What are the steps

Does anyone of have some advice?
