Spousal Visa - contacting UKBA in ottawa?? please help!

Hello all!!

I submitted my UK Spousal Visa application 2 weeks ago via the Edmonton Worldbridge application centre and recieved a response from the UKBA in Ottawa via email that my application had been recieved and was 'in progress'. Several days later I received another email requesting further documentation and a certified copy of my husband's british passport. Unfortunately my husband works in the Middle East and is currently away at work (with his passport) with no option to send me a certified copy. I can get the assistance of family back in Scotland to get his long-form birth certificate but the email I recieved from the UKBA stated a deadline (4 days from the original email) for me to send the original documents in which I have obviously been unable to meet.

Can anyone advise if they have been given an extension on a deadline to provide further documentation and HOW they contacted the UKBA in Ottawa to make such arrangements??? Please!?! I sent a reply to the email they sent me with my request but have no confirmation that the email was recieved by them or even read...

Thanks to anyone who can provide some insight on this! I am not looking to follow up on the status of my application or am in any rush to expedite the process, I simply need to find out how long an application file can stay open for and if there is any possible way to contact Ottawa to request an extension.

Hi Nicole,

I just had a look through my first email from UKBA when they received my Settlement application. Unfortunately it just states to contact WorldBridge.

When I looked on the WorldBridge > Contact Us page there is a charge for the call.

I hope this helps and that your matter is resolved in your best interest.

Did it work out for you? did you have any luck with an extension? I am stressing out now because I sent all my documents to Ottawa, they just received them on June 10th but my husbands passport copies were just photo copoes of his passport, nothing was notarized by anyone.... Let me know how you did ok? Thanks
