Spousal Visa & Pregnancy!

Spousal Visa & Pregnancy!

Postby Tina30 » Thu Feb 05, 2009 2:07 pm

I am Canadian married to a Brit. I've been been in the UK on a visitor visa which expires Feb 28. I need to go back home to sort out a Spousal Visa. Does being pregnant have an effect on the application or how quickly it all happens as I've got to be back by end of March. Any HELP/SUGGESTIONS would be great. Thanks.

No it will not change how long it will take to have your visa and there is no guarantees that you will have your visa in time for the end of March !

good luck

I am in the same situation, only we are going to Canada to get married Feb 5th and will be there for a month. While I am in Canada, I'll be putting in my application for my UK citizenship, which takes 3 to 6 months to process... BUT we just found out that we are going to have a baby, and we're not sure about health care coverage once we come back to the UK in March. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in the area? What are our options for health care coverage while we are waiting for my citizenship to be processed?

Thank you in advanced :)

Hi... I was pregnant when I applied for my spousal visa. Once I got back to the UK, there was no change in my health coverage. My midwife visits/scans, etc all continued the same way as prior to my coming back to Toronto to get my visa. BTW, my visa came in a week, I had included ultrasound reports in my forms. Congratulations! Good luck.

Tina30, How did you go about getting a doctor in the UK as a Canadian Citizen?

My husband is a British citizen - I joined under his name as being his spouse. Got full access to GP, hospitals etc.
