Spouse Visa - timescale/wait time?

Post Tue Jul 22, 2008 1:52 am

Getting married July 30th in Greece to a British Citizen, then going back to Vancouver in September to apply for a settlement Spouse Visa.

How long is it taking if I apply from Vancouver VAC?

Cheers, Melanie

Thanks!

Lululemon:

I applied in May for a spousal visa (husband is a British Citizen). It took 36 business hours for my visa to be approve (i.e. had my biometrics done on a thursday in toronto, on friday received an email saying that my application had arrived in Ottawa and monday morning at 9:30 I had an email waiting for me saying that it had been approved. I was astounded at how quick it was.

I applied Thursday July 24 th that is when i went and got all my biometrics done then I sent it away by purolator moments after. It arrived at the High Commission on Friday that I know from the tracking by purolator The High commission scanned it and started processing it on the Monday 28th I had a phone call tuesday morning asking when I'd like to travel and decided we'd date it for the 1st of August She said they'd send it on the wednesday and would probably arrive on friday. I received it on Friday Aug 1. So total actual processing time was about 24-36 hours.but a week from biometrics to having it back in my hot little hands!

I went to the Calgary VAC, I am now in the UK with my husband.God luck and happy wedding!

Hi,
We had my husband's biometrics done in Vancouver August 13, sent application August 14, it arrived at Embassy August 15th and they confirmed it had arrived and begun processing on Tuesday August 19th. We just got an email this morning (Friday August 22) confirming that they had issued his entry clearance so for us it took 3 business days (but they had it 2 days before they started processing it).

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

I completed the online form in August, went in for biometrics on Sept 8th + sent the package off that day and just got the approval email today! That's only 4 business days.

Yay! Yay! Yay!

You have completed the online application and have a number?
Try this.you just log in with your application number:

To Make Your Appointment
• Go to the WorldBridge Service site.
• Select your country
• Click on "Make an Appointment at the Visa Application Centre"
• Enter your information the exact same way you entered it on the application.

Then you should be able to pick an appt.

That's really really good to read! I'm a bit stressed about the time it'll take and all. We're getting married on october 25th and I want to apply online the next day since we're going to Canada on the 28th!

Did they give you lots of options for the appt? Do you think it's possible to get an appt within the next couple of days following the online application?
