I don't think you can get it in Florida, I know a guy in MN who has Star Choice but he lives near the border. We can't get DirecTV in Calgary for the same reason, it uses five satellites and only two of them can be received clearly here, one is a bit flaky.

DirecTV is better anyway, unless you really miss the Canadian channels!

And this assumes you maintain an address in Canada, etc. because Star Choice is not FAA-approved.

There might be a way of pointing the dish at the correct satellite from Florida, you'd have to talk to a local satellite guru.

Well on the planes they have Bell satellite, so the settings should be pretty much the same as you've got at home assuming Star Choice don't use a spot beam (I think they do, I'm sure there's a website somewhere you can check).

What you need to do is find a satellite installer who has one of the gizmos that works out the azimuth correctly so you can point the dish in the right direction. Problem is that because they're not FAA-approved you need to find some small shop somewhere where they don't care about it.

But I have to say I messed around for ages trying to get DirecTV to work up here and I gave up because two of the beams are spot beams so you can't get them and one was pretty weak so it wasn't worth it. And Calgary is a lot closer to the border than anywhere in Florida!
