Hello Everyone!
I am a Canadian citizen that came to the US for University. I am currently in the US on a student visa. That visa expireses in August. I recently got a new job so I spoke to an immigration lawyer but his fees are going to cost me a fortune! Here is the catch. My girlfriend (soon to be my wife) also has a great job and we dont want to move quite yet. The problem is unlike Canada every state in the US doesnt recognize same sex marriages. Does ANYONE have any suggestions?!?!? Please help.PLEASE!

Is your girlfriend in the US? Is she Canadian or American?

Where is your new job?

Flesh out your question with a bit more info, maybe someone can offer some help.

FWIW, Canada *does* recognize same sex marriages as I'm sure you know, so why not just move back to Canada? Doubt

Well, unless your job is willing to sponsor you for a TN visa, your options are seriously limited.

What the heck is a non-profit pastry company? I'm not even certain something like that would qualify for a TN.
