I am a masters level student in Canada. My program requires a 3 month internship. I have been offered a paid internship as a research assistant at a centre run by an American University in the US. What type of visa do I need to apply for?

Is this a student-visa thing, or I think I read something about a TN visa?

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

I was wondering if in the end you used a TN visa? I have been offered a research assistant position for two months at a US university and was wondering if I should apply for a TN Visa.

Yes I did get TN status and it worked wonderfully. You should get it as long as you are a research assistant working in a post secondary institution and have a degree in the subject area in question.
