Hi,

I am looking to go to the US for University for 2 years. Is there any way my girlfriend of 7 years, common-law 2 years, can come with me? And if so, will she be able to work, even part-time? Thanks in advance for any help.

Unless she gets some sort of student visa or TN visa of her own, she is not eligible to just come with you on your visa.

Thanks Reba. Do you know what the maximum amount of time for her to visit would be? A couple months at a time optimistically?

6 months per calendar year for Canadians. She can't work during that time, technically not even remotely for a Canadian employer.

yes, there's nothing to stop a Canadian citizen finding gainful employment in Canada.
