I am 21 years old I am from Canada but I go to school in Michigan. I go to a small private school that doesnt have too many off campus housing. Since I have very good finances I'd like to buy a house off campus which is just 1/2 mile from my school. Now the only way my school will let you stay off campus is if you have an address that is less then 45 miles away. There would be 4 other girls living in the house with me 3 of them are American and the Other one is Canadian as well. It would not be a problem for the Americas all they would have to do if change there mailing address which I believe all they have to do is go to the post office or even just get onto the internet and they can do it that way. But with the Canadian I would have to put her as a co-ower.? I am just guessing I am not sure. But I would like to know if I can even do that. I am pretty sure I do not have to be American to buy a house. Also I am doing this because I think it would be a great investment, I will be at the school for 3 more years. therefore I would be collecting rent and after I am done school and if I do not want to keep renting it out to students then I could sell it to the college because they are looking to buy up alot of the homes around the school.
If anyone could help me or give me a few tips please let me know
Thanks
