Hey everyone! new to the site.and so far i've found you guys VERY helpful!

my question is, im looking to study in L.A., i have an aunt and uncle living there, and have been for more than 20 years. I looked at the college's international student fees, and they're over $10,000! $8000 going to living and personal expenses, and the rest is school's tuition. Now since i have a place to stay (Aunts/uncles house) would i qualify for just the state tuition? or am i out of luck and fully responsible for the international fees?

and another thing, with a study visa.is there any way of finding a serving position? as oppose to working within the campus which i hear pays peanuts!

thanks in advance!

You would have to pay internationa fees unless you can find some way to get yourself a green card. And no, your Aunt & Uncle cannot sponsor you for a green card.

Depends on how big the campus is to how good a job you can find, the bigger it is the more jobs obviously. Once you finish your course of study you can work full-time on optional practical training, assuming your course of study qualifies for it (vast majority do).

There is nothing short of US citizenship or LPR that will get you in-state tuition rates, although California recognizes H visas for in-state tuition (most States don't), however you don't qualify for an H visa so it doesn't help.
