I just wanted to post a quick note to thank everyone who offered advice as I was preparing to apply for a TN visa. I drove to Port Huron yesterday and received the visa in less than 5 minutes! I gave the CBP officer my package with offer letter, CV, degree and two supporting letters and he scanned them and asked for the $56 fee. He did not ask one single question relating to property or family in Canada, where I was planning on living in Milwaukee, nothing. I was totally prepared with copies of the title to my house here, copy of the lease for the condo in Milwaukee, bank statements etc, but none of it was needed.

Truth be told, the process was far simpler than I anticipated. I knew I was prepared, but you never know how these thing will go. I did heed the advice to be aware that the car would be searched, which it was. I cleaned out the car of everything except the bottle of washer fluid before I left home.

Thanks again for all the sound advice. I will be checking in here from time to time as I get settled in the US.

Hi. Thanks for the tip. What did you mean by supporting papers?
