Summer Job in the US

Post Sat May 01, 2010 4:25 pm

Hi there!
I was searching the forum for my answer but I can't seem to find one related to what I want to ask.

I am moving to New York from Toronto for the summer(June-August) as I have recieved an offer of employment for a part-time summer job working as a speech language pathologist assistant. I hold a Canadian Citizenship and a Bachelor of Arts from a Canadian University. I know the category of a SLP-A does not fall under NAFTA and a TN visa, I was wondering could my job category fall under a H2=B visa? If so, how long will it take me to apply and I just do it through the consulate and schedule an appointment to meet with them right?

Thanks! Hope someone can help!
:) :)

Your sponsor should be looking into this. Get after them.

You would get your status at the border, not at a consulate, after submitting forms to USCIS, so your firm needs to find out how they can legally hire you.
