Superannuation Benefits

I am a retired federal Canadian employee who receives benefits through Superannuation and understand that I may use the medical and dental in the U.S. My wife and I will be moving from Halifax, N.S. to the Norfolk area of Virginia the end of May. Has anyone had experience with the above? We'd be most appreciative for some practical information. Thanks very much.
