Taking University Courses while on TN

Postby SarniaGrl » Mon Jun 09, 2008 7:41 pm

Good evening,

I was wondering if anyone has had experience in signing up for online or part-time professional development courses while working on a TN. One U.S. University I spoke with(Oregon State) required the full F Visa & 1-20 along with the 32,000 bank balance just to take a few online courses in the environmental sciences program. Is this the rule rather than the exception?

Every school is different. Shop around.

Thank you for the advice, I have been shopping around, looking at private vs. public post-secondary institutions. I am hoping to get some feedback from others who have or are working on distance education opportunities/evening course studies while working in the U.S. under a TN.

As long your immigration status intent is to work full time (TN or H1), you can be enrolled in school. I am on TN and I am working towards my MBA from Wayne State in Detroit.
