TAX Question

Hello,

I am a Canadian working in New York city on TN visa. Wondering if anyone knows if the interest paid on Canadian home mortgage can be declared as deductible for US income tax. Also, could you please advise if you know tax accountants who are expert in both countries tax laws.

Thanks,
Sam

Yes, it is deductible. Of course, if you still live in Canada, saving money on your US tax return is of little value as your bigger tax bill will still be in canada; you would simply be reducing your US tax bill.
