Hey! Anyone have to fill out this form? REPORT OF FOREIGN BANK
AND FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS TD F 90-22.1? It's the first time I came across it while filling out taxes this year. Any advice? Thanks!

It's not a tax form. Basically if you have accounts over US$10,000 outside the US you have to submit it to FinCEN. There are other forms as well for other types of assets if you have a look at their website.

The Canadian equivalent is T1135, but Canada isn't anywhere near as tough on the reporting requirements.

You only need to file the FinCEN FBAR form if you are a resident of the US (and have foreign assets over $10,000), if you're in a non-immigrant classification and filing taxes as a non-resident (on 1040NR) then you don't have to do it.
Steve.
