TD Status super easy!

Didn't know you had to fill out an I94, but it was super easy getting my wife her TD Status.

He didn't even check our Record of Solemnization!

Anyone coming to the US on a visa has to complete an I-94 at Customs.

I didn't recall completing one for my TN Visa, the border agent did everything for me. Heh, anyways, the TD Visa, does this have multiple entry as the TN Visa does? I don't see anything stating that it is, as with the TN where it says Multiple at the bottom.

TD visa - I94

Post Fri Aug 10, 2007 9:44 am

For the TD Visa, if the I-94 doesn't say MULTIPLE on it - don't worry. When you reenter the US -- fill out the white I94 form and the immigration officer will either use it or not - depending on the last I94 was taken away upon departure from the U.S.

Now, the information above is not how it should be according to the law - but it seems this is usually how it works. You can always get clarification from the immigration officer upon your next re-entry -- and in most cases you'll hear different officers tell you different things :)

Hope this helps.

Read our article on Common TN Visa Mistakes to Avoid so you do not have border problems when the officer begins asking you questions.

this is not true, i went on usa website govt site, and I94 is not meant for canadians, however it states they can give them out to canadians if they wish

i am looking for help with my question as well, i got an I94 last time iw ent to usa, however every other time i went to usa with a passport or without one before passports were needed, i have never gotten that I94 form, every other time i crossed by plane with passport they always stamp my passport 6 months with B2 visitor visa, i went on vacation last time though and they had me fill I94 which is i had to put what airline im returning on and they only stamped it for 2 weeks my duration last time, does anyone know why i was given I94 last time? according to usa website they are not suppose to be given to canadians, and im baffled why i got it last time, but i flew about 10 times before that and never got it. in return i did not know who to return it to, i had to call customs the next day, and they told me to drop it off in a slip office window in an airport office. im worried these guys have not processed the info on their computers or whatever either though, because the usa website states that it takes up to 3 months to process them, and i didnt know what the thing was to begin with i never got it before, and officers did not explain what the form was or that it had to be returned. usualy they just stamp the passport for 6 months, never gotten this form except last time, is everything fine for when i travel next time? since i am travelling again before 3 months it would even take them to process it, and i returned it to the airport and hope it did not get lost, the spot i put it in hada few other ones as well. so i hope all is fine. anyone know though why i was given this? do not think it is meant for canadians.

Wow, 4 year old post.

Anyone entering on a work visa needs to complete an I-94. Anyone suspicious enough when entering as a tourist, has an I-94 filled out for them by the kindly officer.

Good service, eh?

agnelson so everytime i crossed by plane except last time they always just stamp me 6 months B2 visa right into my passport, but last time they gave me I94 just for the duration i said id be away and stapled that in my passport

if for some un godly reason they give me the stupid I94 thing again, since im not working and only going on vacation. sometimes when i go to vacation in usa, for example if i plan on going a month, i have lots of friends in usa, when they hear im there they all want to hang out with me, so sometimes i extend my stays a few extra weeks for example. since canadians can stay 6 months out of the year

if they dont stamp me 6 months with B2 visa, is there a way once im in USA with the B2 visa on my I94, is there an office in usa, that i can go to get my stay extended? since canadians can go 6 months out of year? and if so which office, do i take it to an ins office/social security office? to try to get the B2 visitor visa extended?
from what im aware canadians can stay 6 months out of the year. but also read that on a B2 it is possible to extend a vacation up to a year on a B2 visitor visa as a born canadian and canadian citizen , travelling to usa. is this correct? i never have attempted to extend any B2 visas, but is it possible and if so which office in usa do you have to go to have it done? i have a family, and house in canada too so its not like i dont have ties to canada. its just my girlfriend is in usa, and i go on vacation quite a bit to usa, especialy now since canadian $ is at par.

The very fact that you are asking how to extend your next visit longer that original plan is EXACTLY why you are viewed suspiciously.

You don't seem to want to live in canada (you can't be going to school in canada and at the same time spending more than suix months in US), and the border officers sense this.

I'm pretty sure they will continue to issue I-94 until you stop this pattern of activity.

agnelson i did not spend over 6 months in usa though, i have only gone for about 2 weeks out of 2011.

if for some reason they give the I94, is there way to get it extended at an ins or social security office or another officer in usa? like i said i have crossed many times with and without passport, and out of over 100 times crossing, i was only given th is forum 1 time.

also it says it takes them 3 months to process this atleast according to us.gov website, it has not even been 3 months, i do not think they have processed it yet, it is govt and govt is slow. just because they did not process it yet, do you think they will not believe me that i returned it in when in fact i did return it .

I wouldn't worry about the "processing" of your previous I-94.

What you need to be concerned about is the perception you are giving at the border. You are obvioulsy giving them reason to thinkl you are an overstay risk.

So, you need to be working in canada, spending less time in US, and carrying proof that you are going to come back to canada.

Quite frankly, I'm not going to answer you on how to extend your stay, becuase that is the attitude you need to correct.
