Hello
Sorry I can't help with job advice - I've just started looking for a position as a highschool teacher in Dubai.
I plan on taking a leave of absence for two years in order to teach there. I was wondering if you could help me with some tax advice. Is there any way to avoid paying taxes to Revenue Canada when we return to Canada?
If I simply declare no income, is there any way Revenue Canada can check on this? I really don't feel obliged to pay them taxes while I'm living in another country. We're not prepared to sell our house in Canada, so I don't think we could claim to be 'non-residents'.
Any advice would be very appreciated.
