I have a cousin in Ontario who is interested in coming to Scotland to teach georgeaphy. Can anyone give me information about where I can obtain information about the requirements needed for a Canadian to teach in Scotland.

Hello.

The organisation your cousin needs to contact is the General Teaching Council for Scotland. It's similar to the Ontario College of Teachers. All teachers in Scotland have to be registered through them.

Go to their site: http://www.gtcs.org.uk/ and click on membership services. If your cousin has teaching experience, then s/he may qualify for full registration right now. If not, then the process is a bit more of a pain, I know as I have just completed it myself. If this is the case, let me know, and I will relate the challenges I experienced.
