Teaching in the UK

Post Tue Jul 22, 2008 6:50 am

Hi all

Does anyone have any ideas or information on how I can contact Teachers who want to work in the UK?

We are looking for Canadian or American candidates who have recently qualified or have some experience.

I also would like to know if anyone has information on job fairs in Canada for Teachers or good places to advertise for Teachers to work in the UK either whilst travelling or long term.

Please help we have a massive shortage of good teachers and all of our schools and pupils love Canadians and Americans in their class rooms.

Sorry, just read on in your posting --
as far as good places to look for teachers, most education faculties at Canadian universities have a large job fair once or twice per year. Contact the faculties at each university and find out how you can set up a booth. Some faculties provide the oppertunities to hold interviews on the spot. Note: these job fairs are ofen held in January or early February, hiring for the following school year.

Here's a link for a great site that has lots of listings for teachers. I remember checking that website all the time when I was looking for a job out of school.

Also, as the previous poster mentioned most Universities have career fairs that they hold. For example, I went to the University of Alberta and they always hold an education career fair. I remember school boards from the US and possibly the UK being there as well.
