I know I know Thanksgiving has past but I am adopting (or stealing) an idea that posted about Christmas. Basically-what do you miss most about Thanksgiving? Last one was my first one home in 11 years and it was amasing just how much I missed. It was a little celebration with some family, his friends and my friend who came with me from Britian.
Anyways, give that one a think

Nothing. In the past I was always the maker of Thanksgiving so I do it here now. I had a fab turkey dinner and it was just like anywhere I've lived. I invited all my friends around and my parents were visiting at the time so we did it a couple of weeks early and had a great time.
I did find it really hard to find a decent turkey as all the good ones aren't available until Christmas around here. I did finally find one at a local organic farm.
I've been away from Canada for 10 years and been in the US and here in that time. I always make the holidays whatever I want them to be wherever we are.

Thats great that you can take the holiday spirit with you. My family does nothing so it is a lot harder. I miss turkey and squash and cranberry sauce-but I miss the whole spirit of Thanksgiving, everyone around the dinner table, saying what we're most thankfull for...
Also at the risk of sounding like an eastern elitest-there is nothing quite as charming as an eastern fall Smile
